Seniors on soccer team pose with coach on the field

The Westmoreland-Oriskany Boys Varsity Soccer team capped off “Senior Night” – and the regular season – with a 2-1 victory over Clinton, at home, on October 12.

Senior Jesse Sweet scored both goals for the Bulldogs. He was assisted each time by junior Anthony Sawanac. Senior goalie David Cronauer made six saves for Westmoreland-Oriskany.

Jimi Alvarez scored Clinton’s lone goal. He was assisted by Joseph Frank.

Before the start of the game, Westmoreland-Oriskany honored its seven seniors – David Cronauer, Bryan Doyle, Soirchio Hara, Carter McGregor, Jesse Sweet, Jack Tamburino and Jacob Usyk – with a brief “Senior Night” ceremony at midfield.

Westmoreland-Oriskany finished the regular season with a 14-2 overall record and awaits the Section III Class C playoffs. Sectional seedings and first round games will be announced on Sunday, October 16.
