The Westmoreland Girls Varsity Tennis team finished the 2022 fall season as Co-Champions of the Center State Conference. Westmoreland (7-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play) shared the title with Canastota.
On September 10, Westmoreland placed first in the Center State Conference Tournament at the Parkway Tennis Courts in Utica. Kiersten Tynatishon won the second singles draw and Lily Mazur won the third singles draw. Autumn Millington and the team of Ariana Malerba/Melissa Spicer were the runner-ups in first singles and second doubles.
In team sectionals, Westmoreland defeated Beaver River in the first round 3-2 on September 30. Westmoreland fell to Skaneateles – the eventual champion – in the quarterfinal round 5-0 on October 3.
In individual sectionals, Autumn Millington and Kiersten Tynatishon competed in first and second singles at the Parkway Tennis Courts in Utica on October 12. Tynatishon advanced to play at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse on October 18, where she finished in the top four in all of Division 4.
Autumn Millington, Kiersten Tynatishon, Tessie Shafer and Marlee Shafer were named Center State Conference All-Stars.
