Primary and Upper Elementary School Families:
“It's the most wonderful time of the year!” 
We are in the holiday spirit here at Westmoreland! To celebrate the season, our building and grounds crew has graciously decorated the big pine tree outside of the Primary Elementary School, and we are going to host the first annual Westmoreland Central School Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony will take place in front of the tree outside of the Primary Elementary School on Thursday, December 8, at 1:30 p.m. A number of fun, surprise activities are planned for this event. Our high school choir will perform for our students, too!
Please know the event is a student-only event; however, we would like to welcome families to visit the lit tree during after-school hours beginning Thursday, December 8. Also – the actual tree lighting ceremony will be livestreamed. To watch the livestream, CLICK HERE.
Because we will be outside for the event, we ask that students come prepared for cold temperatures. Students should wear a winter jacket, hat and gloves, as we will be outside for a portion of the afternoon. We look forward to this fun-filled event to kick off the holiday season!
The Primary Elementary School and Upper Elementary School are also gearing up for the holiday season with festive spirit days leading up to Holiday Recess. All students are invited to wear appropriate clothing that goes along with the theme of the day as we flood our schools with holiday cheer! *Everyone must follow the school dress code each day.*
Monday, December 12 – Blue and White Day; wear blue and white clothes
Tuesday, December 13 – Holiday Headgear; wear your favorite holiday hat
Wednesday, December 14 – Holiday Socks; wear your favorite holiday socks
Thursday, December 15 – Candy Cane Day; wear red and white clothes; students will receive a candy cane
Friday, December 16 – Grinch Day; wear Grinch themed clothes (green and white)
Monday, December 19 – Winter Wonderland; wear cozy winter attire
Tuesday, December 20 – Festive Sweater; wear your favorite holiday sweater
Wednesday, December 21 – All “Decked” Out Holiday Attire; wear your favorite holiday clothes
Thursday, December 22 – Pajama Day; wear your pajamas to school; students will watch movie
December 23-January 2 – Holiday Recess
