The Westmoreland Teachers Association (WTA) is joining the Westmoreland Girls Basketball Program in its fight against cancer.
On January 10, the WTA presented the Girls Varsity Basketball team’s captains, Ella McGregor and Gabby Moore, with a $100 check so the team can purchase a basket to be raffled off at the Utica Women’s Basketball Board of Officials Cancer Challenge.
The challenge is taking place on Sunday, January 29, at Herkimer County Community College, and will feature four girls’ basketball high school games. The Westmoreland Girls Varsity Basketball team is participating in the challenge.
Game Schedule:
Game 1 – TBA, 11:00 a.m.
Game 2 – TBA, 1:00 p.m.
Game 3 – TBA, 3:00 p.m.
Game 4 – Westmoreland vs. Clinton, 5:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the Utica Women’s Basketball Board of Officials Cancer Challenge will benefit families dealing with cancer. The challenge is taking place for the first time since 2020, the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
