On November 13, 2018, district voters approved a proposed capital project. The project, designed to keep our school campus as safe, updated and conducive to learning as possible, is officially underway.
There are four major components:
-Life Safety -ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Compliance -Energy Savings -Standard Replacements/Upgrades

Update #3: August 19, 2020
Installation of a new lift at Bus Garage
The foundation walls for the Bus Garage addition, which will house a new bus lift in compliance with New York State Department of Transportation standards, have been poured. Starting to backfill (Photo #1 and #2).
Replacement of portions of Jr./Sr. High School roof
The roof above the gym and math wing of the Jr./Sr. High School has been replaced. All planned roof replacement is done (Photo #3).
Replacement of Jr./Sr. High School boiler system
The old steam boilers at the Jr./Sr. High School have been removed and the pads for the new boilers have been poured. The old boilers are being replaced with high efficiency hot water boilers and related unit ventilators, creating a total hot water system. The conversion will reduce energy consumption and provide for better temperature control. Installation of the new boilers is underway and is expected to be completed by the start of school (Photo #4 and #5).
Replacement of Jr./Sr. High School Gym air handling units
All duct work has been completed. New rooftop units have been installed (Photo #6 and #7).
Replacement of Jr./Sr. High School Gym floor
Installation of the new gym floor is in progress. The gym’s walls have been painted (Photo #8 and #9).
Improved parking and handicapped parking at Jr./Sr. High School
New drainage has been installed, new sidewalks have been poured and milling for the new drive-thru area and parking lot has been completed. Paving is expected to be completed by the start of school. The work will create a wider bus and parent drop-off/pick-up area adjacent to the gym entrance (Photo #10, #11, #12, #13 and #14).
Replacement of portions of Jr./Sr. High School corridor ceiling and installation of new LED lighting
New ceiling grids have been installed. Awaiting delivery of the new LED lights, which are expected to be installed before the start of school (Photo #15 and #16).
Classroom upgrades at Jr./Sr. High School
Work is still in progress to upgrade several classrooms in the Jr./Sr. High School with new ceilings, lighting, vertical unit ventilators and temperature controls. Ventilation and heat will be functioning before the start of school (Photo #17).
Additionally:
-A new fire alarm system, along with additional emergency lighting units, is being installed at the Jr./Sr. High School and Primary Elementary School to satisfy the current New York State code requirements for verbal notification and proper coverage. The new fire alarm system at the Primary Elementary School has been installed. Installation of the new fire alarm system at the Jr./Sr. High School is expected to occur in October. In the interim, the current fire alarm system will still be operational.
-As part of the capital project, several doors throughout the district – primarily classroom doors – will be replaced. The new doors, along with existing doors not chosen for replacement, will contain intruder lock function hardware, which allows a door to be locked without stepping into the hallway, or potentially into an unsafe situation. Door glazing will also be replaced with breach restraint glazing. These measures will enhance current safety and security measures already in place. Installation of the new doors will occur after school hours during the fall months.
What to expect at the start of school:
-Completion of the Bus Garage addition will occur during the day. Any other remaining, interior work, will occur after school hours to prevent disruptions to the educational process/instruction.
