Update #5: April 23, 2021

Installation of a new lift at Bus Garage  Bus Garage

The windows and garage door for the addition to the Bus Garage housing the new bus lift have been installed, and there is now electricity. Siding installation and bathrooms are finished. The installation of the new bus lift, in compliance with New York State Department of Transportation standards, is also finished. The lift is fully operational.

Improved parking and handicapped parking at Jr./Sr. High School

Paving from the entrance of the Jr./Sr. High School to the front of the Bus Garage, along with new landscaping, is finished. Drainage and signage was also installed. Paving around the Bus Garage will be completed in the spring.

Installation of new LED sign in front of Jr./Sr. High School

A new LED sign is scheduled to be installed in front of the Jr./Sr. High School this spring. The sign will replace the current sign and will be able to display several announcements on a rotational basis, making it easier to communicate information in a timelier fashion.

Additionally:

-A new fire alarm system at both the Jr./Sr. High School and Primary Elementary School was installed and activated to satisfy the current New York State code requirements for verbal notification and proper coverage. Additional emergency lighting units at both schools are currently being installed.

-As part of the capital project, several doors throughout the district, primarily classroom doors, will be replaced. The new doors, along with existing doors not chosen for replacement, will contain intruder lock function hardware, which allows a door to be locked without stepping into the hallway, or potentially into an unsafe situation. Door glazing will also be replaced with breach restraint glazing. These measures will enhance current safety and security measures already in place. Door installation at the Primary Elementary School and Upper Elementary School is finished. Door installation at the Jr./Sr. High School is nearing completion – all classroom doors have already been replaced.

-Bus Garage construction is taking place during the day. Any other remaining interior work will continue to occur after school hours to prevent disruptions to the educational process/instruction.
